The map also contains data on five alcohol-attributable conditions, including the percentage of inpatient admissions for the selected conditions attributable to alcohol as well as their associated costs.

This report compares Trading Standards North West survey data of 15-16 year olds from 2009 and 2011 on drinking behaviour and attitudes to alcohol to assess whether guidance from the Chief Medical Officer on alcohol related harms in young people are being adhered to in the North West.

The primary purpose of undertaking an Alcohol Harms Needs Assessment for Bolton was to inform the development of a new alcohol strategy. A secondary aim of the needs assessment was to draw up a comprehensive set of recommendations for commissioners to inform the future development of alcohol service provision and wider alcohol harm reduction interventions.
