Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment

The Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) presents a picture of pharmaceutical service provision across Bolton. A briefing on the PNA background and content is available for download.

Bolton's current PNA

The purpose of this Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) is to assess the provision of pharmaceutical services across Bolton and ascertain whether the system is appropriate to meet the needs of our population and identify any potential gaps in the current service delivery. NHS England uses the PNA to assess applications for pharmacies which wish to open or relocate to meet a need, improvement, or better access to pharmaceutical services as identified in the PNA

The PNA is a statutory responsiblity of the Health and Wellbeing Board under the NHS (Pharmaceutical Services and Local Pharmaceutical Services) Regulations (2013) (Part 2).
